Our team studies the role of clathrin-coated structures at different steps of cancer development. Clathrin-coated structures are mostly known to control cell-surface receptor endocytosis but they can also serve as signaling platforms and/or adhesion structures depending on the cellular context. The cell’s environment is deeply remodeled in the vicinity of solid tumors leading to dramatic changes of the mechanical and topological characteristics of tissues. We investigate how clathrin-coated structures are regulated by changes of the microenvironment physical parameters, and how this consequently modulates cell survival, proliferation and migration.
